If the virus infection in a computer is unchecked and allowed to spread, it may force us to reformat the hard drive and reinstall the Operating System. Avoid this expensive process by keeping your Antivirus program up to date and running a virus scan regularly.

Virus Removal Tips...

CAUTION:
Before attempting any virus removal make sure you have a backup of all important data. If the infection is serious, it is safer to have an "image" of the complete hard drive backed up on a CD or another hard drive, so that if virus removal crashes the system, you can easily go back to the way things were.
Here's how we go about it, when normal virus removal techniques fail:
1 Connect the infected hard drive as a second hard  drive to another computer which has an up to date Antivirus Program.
2 Run a Complete scan - have the program list the infected files
3 Delete all infected files which are not integral to the system
4 System files which can not be repaired (disinfected) may be replaced from another computer, the Operating System CD or the Microsoft support site.
5 Connect the hard drive back to the original system, restart in SAFE mode, run a complete scan with updated Antivirus program. Manually delete infected files which are not critical to the system. Replace infected system files which can not be repaired.
6 Restart the computer in Normal mode and run a scan again - repair as above if any more infected files are found.
